Hello gents,

I took a second exam on December 22nd and received a score of 720. However, I have yet to receive my official score and many of the schools I intend to applying to have their deadlines by January 4/5th.

I contacted Pearson to ask if there is any other way to expedite the process, but it was in vain. As it stands, there is high likelihood I will not receive my official score till after these deadlines.

I feel crushed. I guess I should have taken this into consideration beforehand but did not think it would take full 20 days. When I took my first GMAT on December 3rd I received a score report after mere 4 days.

I received 700 on my first try, and have the official score report for it. But it still pains to imagine that I would not be able to use the 720 score. Any suggestions? I wish I could guess my AWA and put it on the application but this would be a very risky move.

Look at the requirements for each school. Not all schools require the official report by the application deadline so you may be fine actually.

All the scores ask for AWA score beforehand; while they all say they don't need an official score (need one if I receive admission), can you submit an application without filling in the AWA portion?

Yes, for most of them you can either not fill it in or put a 0 and then update it once you receive it. Its worth checking with each school to be sure, but this is common at a lot of them anyway.
