Hello,
I have been studied hard for a long time but in an unstructured way. I sat for Online Gmat last month, scored 460 Q42 V12, before that I took several mock tests from different study providers and mba.com. Though I scored from 530 to 590 in the mock test which I took from different study providers, I scored 460 in first and 500 in second mock test which I took from mba.com. My target score is 580-600.
Last night I took another mock test from mba.com and scored 530 Q47 V15. I need to sit for the actual test within 5 days to confirm my admission.
I have figured out that I am struggling with the craziest limited time on verbal. I know about most of the grammatical rules to solve SC and logical ability to crack CR but it takes time to identify the errors. It also takes time to understand the context.
Now I request suggestions from experts and seniors that how can I improve my Verbal from V15 to V23 in 5 days? I know there’s no shortcut, but some strategies can make my life better than. I believe V23 will be enough for me.
I will be grateful to you if you just give me some suggestions.
Especially I am tagging
GMATNinja here because I love the way he cracks each question on video.
I believe

Hi,
It can be quite disappointing to get a low score even after studying hard for months. The unstructured way of learning can be the culprit here. To score 600, you need to get the easy and a few medium questions right. This would require a good conceptual knowledge and a few strategies. The good part is you need help only in Verbal.
Having a knowledge of grammatical rules is good for SC, but to solve those questions, you need to approach them from a meaning stand-point. Most of the questions are framed that way, so knowing how to approach from a meaning stand-point will help and to do that, you need to know how to read a sentence and when to break. To solve CR questions, the ability to pre-think an answer can help you reduce the time you take to solve the questions. To be able to pre-think an answer, understanding the framework behind the question is really important.
I would have recommended you to choose an online course to learn the concepts and strategies but considering you have only 5 days for preparation, an online course doesn’t make sense. I would rather recommend you to
take a few one-on-one verbal sessions with private tutors. Having a dedicated session with them will help you strengthen your basics strong and also learn a few strategies so that you can solve easy-medium questions.
If you are open to suggestions, I would recommend you to check the private tutoring course of
GMATWhiz. We offer you a chance to work with highly experienced teachers at a affordable price of only $50/session (each session is of 1.5 hrs duration). Our tutors have a minimum of 10 years teaching experience and we offer a hybrid learning experience where we combine the best of online learning (technology) with private tutoring.
This hybrid learning helps the tutor to track your performance and identify the gaps in your learning and create relevant content for discussion. Hence each session is 5 times more effective than those offered by other private tutors as you get pin-point advice on exact reasons behind your mistakes. As a result, you get the maximum output with minimum number of sessions.
I recommend you to take a decision soon as delaying will only make things worse. If you have any more doubts or wish to schedule a free demo session, you can use the below link to do.
