Hi,
I just gave my 2nd GMAT this weekend and received my scores today (not that great). I gave this GMAT attempt first to increase my score and secondly ISB is only accepting offline scores now and my first attempt was online. Now I have these 2 scores with me:
GMAT attempt:
- GMAT classic (in 2022): 710 (Q50, V35, IR5, AW6)
- GMAT Focus: 615 (Q84, V81, DI76)
Now, can anyone please help me in deciding which scores I should share with the colleges (beside ISB)? The new or the old?
Also based on these scores how are my chances for MBA program at Cambridge, LBS, INSEAD and HEC (or any other I should be looking at).
I am an Indian male working for Big4 as Supply Chain Analyst. I will have almost 3 yrs of work-ex by the time program starts next year. Have mentored juniors in my company and have also volunteered my time at few coding clubs. No international experience though (which I know is important for INSEAD). I graduted in Industrial engineering from NITs in India with top 10% position in my cohort.
Hey,
mbahunter1299Your initial attempt in 2022 had a much higher score of 710. Subsequently, your second shot in the GMAT FE got you lower total marks of 615, resulting in high section scores in Quantitative, Verbal, and DI.
For many business schools, such as Cambridge, INSEAD, HEC, and LBS, a composite score from your GMAT is the most important aspect. Higher scores, such as this one, that you received in 2022 with a score of 710, are preferred. Consequently, I would advise that you report to these institutions about your classic attempt at the GMAT.
The odds at top MBA programsWith a GMAT score of 710, strong work experience in Big Four companies, and participation in mentoring/volunteering programs, you have a solid foundation for applying to top MBA programs. However, it is essential to note that it is only part of a successful application. Other aspects of your profile also play a huge role..
