Sending GMAT scores [#permalink]

Hi Everyone,

Apologies for the repeated topic, but I couldn't quite clarify a few questions I had regarding sending scores.

Firstly, on the GMAT Official website it says:
"Within 20 days of your test, your Official Score Report will be sent to up to five (5) programs that you selected."

To clarify this point, is it saying that even for the first 5 free schools we select, it can take 20 days for scores to be sent?

Secondly, if that's not the case, and the scores are sent and received immediately on the day, for the additional schools will it take up to 20 days?

I am thinking of re-scheduling my gmat from the 15th of Nov to the 1st of Dec, and want to apply to about 10 or so schools which have a deadline on the 15th of december.

Is this calling it too close?

Thanks,

nacho

Edit: Also, this is for PhD applications (in case that changes anything)

You don't have to worry about how many days it takes for the GMAC to make your score available to your target schools. What you need to ensure is that you take the GMAT before the deadlines mentioned by your schools. As it is, they will most likely not check your scores until much later.

Drop an email to your target schools if you want to be absolutely sure.

Thanks for your reply. Just to further clarify, I am applying for PhD programs, not the MBA programs. Do you think this would make a difference?

I don't think so. For example, Stanford's deadline (for PhD programs) is December 01, and they accept scores from exams taken between July 01, 2012 and December 01, 2017.
