What can be the corrected sentence for this question ? Reasoning- 'When' is only used for time. So how can we rephrase ?

Should we use 'whether' in place of 'that' in this sentence ? Reasoning-The word 'that' cannot be used for person. Also it seems incorrect.

Sentence1 When is correctly used here as it is talking about time after person leave salon.

Sentence 2 Whether is used in case of choices. In this state "that" is better For whether " he could keep it up or not"
