Hi there,
Can somebody explain why the answer is B and not A. :?: Thanks

According to Medieval monks, the remains of the King Arthur and Queen Ginevre were found at Glastonbury Abbey in A.D. 1911, < and ArthurтАЩs coffin marked with the inscription> (in Latin ): тАЬ Here lies ArthurтАЭ

A. and ArthurтАЩs coffin marked with the inscription
B. ArthurтАЩs coffin marked with the inscription
C. and the inscription was marked on ArthurтАЩs coffin
D. the inscription that was marked on the coffin of the Arthur
E. the coffin of Arthur had the inscription marked

A is wrong cause it lacks auxiliary verb is.
while B, eliminating AND, suggests gramatically correct construction (absolute phrase), which is among the choices listed is the most appropriate here.
