Hello batman08, I am facing similar issue as you are facing..if you find any alternate material, please let me know.

soods26, can you elaborate what you mean by "content is the key". Does it mean that we should not be focusing on questions right now (since we are just starting)? Also, apart from Manhattan, was there any other book for SC that you used.

Yeah you are right - you should focus on content rather than questions. Doing questions will not clear concepts for you. Going through concepts itself is going to help there. After you've gone through content/concepts, you should then look to practice applying all you've learnt on GMAT like questions. You would first want to sharpen a sword before using it :)

Using questions to learn things is a short cut and with most things, shortcuts don't work often. Doing more questions without knowing your content is going to make you feel confused, less confident and doubtful. Not the mindset you want to be in while preparing for the GMAT.

Apart from Manhattan I used Kaplan 800 for the questions. Nothing for the content though.

My De-brief has some interesting ideas on tips and strategies for GMAT prep. You could check it out; there is a link in my signature.

Yeah you're right - you ought to specialize in content instead of queries. Doing queries won't clear ideas for you. rummaging ideas itself goes to assist there. once you've got had content/concepts, you ought to then look to follow applying all you've got learnt on GMAT like queries. you'd initial wish to sharpen a blade before victimisation it

I read in other threads here that some people used the Aristotle SC Grail along with Manhattan SC. Looking at the first chapter of the book (on Amazon), I can see that Aristotle SC goes through some basic grammar concepts unlike Manhattan SC.

In my opinion Manhattan SC booklet is a very good resource for SC. If you are finding the content a little on the tougher side, that is fine. You've got to keep going through it. You could take steps to make digesting all the content easy; steps like making your own hand written notes etc. GMAT is more about knowing your content than doing questions, questions only tell you how much you know, they don't teach you much! So I would say do whatever you can do go through the SC content as best you can and then have a go at questions from the OG. Come back to content if you still feel you are missing depth in content. CONTENT is the KEY!

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the reply! This helps a lot.
I'll go through Manhattan SC first and then do the OG questions.
