setting the stage - making way for 09

Question

We were not sure we could top what the 07 members did for the application forum - We are really pleased with how this turned out with the 08 members. Special thanks to rhyme, pelihu, aaudetat and lepium who continue to visit us.

Time has flown by and it is time for us to set the stage for 09. For the benefit of the newer members, we will bring back some of the older threads and 'release' some of the existing threads.

Hopefully the number of folks that stick around is higher than last year and more schools have representatives (seems Kellogg, GSB, and Ross will be well covered). Rhyme, Aau, Lepium, Pelihu, and a few others who still stopped by on occasion really made a huge difference for a lot of us this year.

I was thinking that the pants pooping threads for this years applications for the schools could be moved to the vault at the end of the application season. Its a good way to get timelines for things and there are posts hidden in them that are very valuable.

Here here! Yeah, we should definitely have a place to keep all the school specific threads. Maybe a sub-forum in the Vault just to hold them? I can probably fish out the 2007 pants pooping ones and put them there too.

Either that, or I can add links to the Vault itself like I've been doing and have people find it that way. Might be simpler I guess.

I'm sure we'll have more people hanging around this time. There were more applicants joining this forum in 08, and now that we pretty much have some dedicated person in all the major schools, it should allow the GMATClub ambassadors' forum to take off too.

Looking forward to this fall when the new folks join us!

Guys, you have all been incredible. I started here late, but the support I got from everyone was superb. Good thing the world is not full of those crazy BW people ;-)

I won't be posting for a while, but will update you if I get off the Stanford W/L. Otherwise, expect me back here next year helping the next generation get into Wharton, in what promises to be the hardest year to apply since 2001... Cheers!

I agree with all the previous comments. I found this forum late in the game - after I had submitted most of my apps last fall (which I think is somewhat of a blessing, because I spent way too much time on here while trying to get in my last app). The resources, information and advice given on here has been invaluable! I look forward to contributing over the next two years while in school.

I also concur with what everyone else said. This forum has been a fantastic resource to have and I will be pointing the next group of confused applicants this direction for sure.

I was wondering, are we going to start a list like last year's where we have GMATClub representatives at the different schools? I know I found that list helpful on multiple occasions in addition to those current students that checked around the forum on a regular basis.

It looks like I am on my way to Cornell and Johnson School, so I am more than happy to be a point of contact for next year's group of students. Since I'm most likely pursuing a dual-degree MBA / Masters in Real Estate, I'll actually be there 3 years, so I'll be finishing up with next year's group of applicants.

Anyway, maybe the list has already started somewhere else, but I hadn't seen anything as of yet. Cheers!
