Hello everyone
I have learnt about the outstanding GmatClub and decided to register after careful investigations on the website.
But I have first to introduce myself, I am not an English native and I am planning to wind up my studies with a graduate degree from a Business School (mainly in Europe). And by all means the GMAT is required...
My GMAT trip have started in June 2010, my first attempt. Absolutely not prepared, bad score.
Two months later, I bought materials such as Kaplan and
Official Guide. I take the test in August because I had an application in a BS (I applied after the last rounds, but I think that my profile was strong enough to wait for my GMAT score). Unfortunately, I got 500 and was eventually rejected from this school.
Then I worked and decided to retake again the GMAT after a strong preparation. I bought every
MGMAT,
Kaplan Premier + 800, Official Guides. I worked out every exercise from these books, did the practice tests associated and of course GMATPrep tests (on average, I scored between 520 and 680 at the very end of my preparation)
Then my third official test in June, 2011 and I got a miserable 510 (Q40, V21, AWA 5.5).
At this stage, I was just wondering whether it would be worth continuing applications to BS or not. I figured out that I would have never chance to finish my studies within a good institution. However, I decided to retake again the GMAT in August, 2011 and got a 580 (Q41, V28, AWA 5.5). This score was my fourth and last attempt.
At this stage, I am quite puzzled with the GMAT. I know that I have weaknesses in Verbal (as I was not able to go beyond 30). I have worked so hard on the Official Guides and
MGMAT books that I can say without fear that I almost know by root the answers to the questions (it was not my intention, but due to the large amount of time I have worked on these materials).
I don't know what I have to do. I have few informative interviews with Associate Directors of the Business Schools I have selected for 2012 entry but I truly do not know how to tackle with the GMAT issue. And I am almost sure that my applications would be once again unsuccesful.
I intended to start off a career in finance, and to such extent, I need a master degree in order to reach my goal but I am on the edge of giving up this project... yes, giving up only because of the GMAT, even though it sounds ludicrous at first glance...
I would like to retake again this test, but I truly do not know where I should start. And I am quite tired of working on the same things that took almost all my life until now...
Any suggestions, advice, tips or similar but successful experiences will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all and Merry Xmas
Cheers
