I just took the GMAT yesterday, and I scored poorly: 670 (Q48, V34). I had scored between 730 to 770 on practice tests, but the stress during the exam knocked me down. Since I am already late in the application process (haven't sent out any applications yet). I am not sure whether to apply for accounting PHD for 2011 academic year (deadlines come around 1/15/2011), or to waite for a year, re-take GMAT, and apply for 2012. Thank you for your sincere advise.

Not sure what the average GMAT score at those schools is? I am also looking at applying to an accounting PhD program. My GMAT is in 4 days. I think if rest of your app is good, you should be fine. 670 is a pretty good score. Q48 looks good.

All the schools that I mentioned have average score above 700. I am afraid if I get rejected this year, the rejection will affect next year's application to the same schools. Good luck to you GMAT

I don't think rejection will affect you next year's apps. Also, for every 750 score school accepts, they take two 670-680 score which brings the average to around 700. So, I think if your app is good overall, you should be good...
