Short term goals?

Question

Hi, I will be applying to the b schools, but I am a bit confused about my short term goals. I come from a business development work experience, although both my short term and long term goals would in entrepreneurship, but I have read too many times that our short terms goals should not be to start a business, and put it in your long term goals.
So, what should I write in at least in my essay for short term goals for a business development to let ad coms that my goals are realistic and feasible. Which concentration is pursued?

lakshya14 : Great question! You should talk about finding work experience in a function or sector that would be related to your long-term goal of starting a business. For example, if you were starting an online marketplace, you might want to work at Etsy or Amazon to get sector experience and understand the market dynamics, forge connections, etc. Alternatively, if you are planning to start a business in the sector in which you are currently working, maybe you need functional diversity. Perhaps you can focus on marketing or finance to complement your business development experience? The general idea is to recognize that a short-term goal is one that allows you to get one more feather in your cap to have a better chance of succeeding when you do ultimately launch your company. Your short-term goal should be related to the sector in which you wish to start your venture; the idea should be to garner experience in the domain and use the same in starting off a venture in the long-run; that would make for the most logical and consolidating trajectory.
