Hi friends,
Heard a lot about this forum. So thought of having expert's feedback on my current confusions.
I m B.Tech with 11yrs of work experience. Coder for 8yrs, from last 3yrs involved in building product and team.
My ask from future, 1. very good payscale 2. Stable job 3. Big brand 4. Later my own company
Confusions are,
1. Should I leave my job n go for MBA. Will that help me in achieving my objectives? Or should I do certain certifications n grow in corporate ladder.
2. Can I get good ROI if I do MBA from US or Canada? In what cld b breakeven time.
3. Will 650 GMAT (i m assuming this score knowing myself) score of any value? Can I get above average ranked college on this score? Will there campus placement be good?
4. Can I still make it if I start GMAT preparation from today?
5. 1yr or 2 yr program?
6. Want to b linked with technical side as well. Should go for which specialisation?
7. Should I go for MS?

ambitious14,
We are a bit late in responding to your queries but hope to be of help still

Please find our point-wise responses below:
1. This depends on what your objectives are. The way business is conducted has undergone a massive change in the last decade and people are looking to pursue an MBA to feel relevant in today's times. At the same time, the MBA offers immense opportunities for professional networking. Hence, if learning is high up on your agenda, go for an MBA

2. Not even the most top-notch MBAs come with a job guarantee. If you go out there and perform, you will have fine career opportunities. A positive mindset and a learning spirit are what you need to showcase and things will fall into place.
3. While 650 is not on the higher side, you could get into decent programs with this score as well. The EMBA may be a good option for you considering your years of experience and there are EMBA programs that even offer a GMAT waiver. To answer your question, yes, you could have some decent options, if not the best.
4. This is a very subjective question as it depends on how you are currently placed, your aptitude, and the quality of preparation you will be putting in on a daily basis. Nonetheless, it is never too late and you must start as soon as you make up your mind.
5. You would be more suited for a 1-year program (mostly an EMBA). A 1-year program will ensure you are back in the work-force sooner.
6. This discussion is more meaningful when you have a GMAT score and know your prospects

7. An MBA would be the ideal degree here unless you want a purely technical role (which we are guessing you do not).
Hope this helped. Happy to answer any follow-up questions you may have

All the best!
