I am a 21 yr old male from India. I applied to UTS( University of Technology, Sydney) for Masters in Management program. I received the offer letter from the same university and i am confused on whether i should accept the offer or try for a better University. I applied to other non-GMAT requiring schools but i got rejected because my Grad percentage (score) is too low.

Reason for applying to UTS- Good reputation, good Program structure, and doesn't require GMAT.

Initially i was preparing for GMAT and was getting around 650 in mock tests. I got sick before 15days of my exam and my exam results got affected. GMAT- 580

My profile:

Bsc from Ravenshaw University-59%, First class honors

Work ex:
Working as a HR executive in a private recruitment firm for 7 months.

Extracurricular Activities

• Sports captain of my house at school in 12th class
• Class representative of science society- Represented students of the science stream in the annual budget meeting for various events.
• Organized a national level seminar on ‘Nanotechnology’.
• Organized a blood donation camp. It was the most successful in the entire city with over 200 blood donors.
• Organized science fest and raised additional 1 lakh rupees for the event.
• Organized an intra university athletic meet, cricket tournament and football tournament.
• Member of student’s union
• Regional level cricket player.
• Member of the university cricket team.

• Awarded best bowler in a Intra school cricket competition in 2009
• Received a credit certificate in Mathematics from University of new south wales education assessment in 2011.
• Received scholar badge in school which is awarded to meritorious students for two consecutive years. 2010-2012
• Took part in international mathematics Olympiad and got a school rank of 10 in 2012
• Won intra school kho-kho tournament in the school in 2012
• Won intra school cricket tournament in 2013.
• Won 1500m athletic event in an intra school competition in 2013
• Won 800m athletic event in an intra university tournament in 2015

My Questions:

1. Is it worth to study at UTS in terms of quality of education, Job prospects( in Australia), ROI?
2. Should i try for a better university ( which will require GMAT) since i have got 2 months of time (that i am gonna utilize to pursue my interest i.e. Ethical Hacking) before the acceptance deadline ends.

I’ve been living in Australia for the past 10 years so I definitely can give u a bit of the insight. Australia, in generally, dont really differentiate the University ranking, unless u work in academic. Say, going to UTS and going to University of Melbourne wont make a big difference when it comes to applying for a positive (In Amercia, Ivy league and non Ivy league can make a difference). Australian employers they value local experience ! Experience always come first, and then qualification. So my advice would be, look for a program that offers good internship, good traineeship or good placement because that is what will put u ahead of your peers.
