Hi, My profile is as follows:
I am an Indian (age: 27) - been in the US for 3 years now. I have a total work experience of 3.5 years (2 years in India (tech consulting) and 1.5 years in USA (fortune 100) product management and business strategy). I completed my 2 years Masters in Computer Engineering from a top ranked school (US News: Top 5 for Computer Engineering) with a very low GPA (2.99) (reason: could not adjust well, high financial pressure, health issues, working part time) but did very well in all the business school courses i took (A's). I have a decent (3.7+ in US equivalent) undergrad GPA from a university back in India (non-IITs). Post my Masters - I joined a Fortune 100 company in an accelerated leadership program and I am currently handling a strategy for $300MM business in a Director role (promoted 3 times in 1 year and doing pretty well financially). I am pretty happy and satisfied with what I am doing and I am thinking of pursuing a MBA from top school ( preferably M7). I currently work on building business cases, prepping for board meetings, presenting to Chairman every month, etc. I would want to transition to MBB/Management Consulting space.
I have not written my GMAT yet but I have pretty good quant skills. (mock GMAT without any prep: 700) Before I pursue the path of an MBA - probably apply next year for 2016 intake. I have 3 questions
My questions are:
1. Should I apply with such a low Masters GPA for a full time MBA or a part time MBA?
2. What can i do to improve my profile from now to next year to get into MBB post business school? Switch to a low tier consulting company?
3. What should i do from now to next year to improve my profile for a M7 admit?
Sorry for the extensive verbiage.
