I'm planning for a GMAT retake online in about 3 weeks.
My concern is, I have a spinal issue that makes it difficult for me to sit on a chair for more than an hour at a stretch. I end up having painful spasms on my neck. So, my plan is to take the exam from my bed on a portable laptop table that I've been using for years so that I can readjust my posture from time to time to avoid the spasms.
My question is:
According to GMAT online test regulations, will me taking the exam online from my bed be an issue? Also, will my sitting up or leaning back at any point be an issue? Or is it not a big deal?
If yes, does that mean I should apply for disability accommodations??
I have medical records to show for the condition.
Hi Tahsin0ishi,
The official 'process' to apply for (and receive) Testing Accomodations can sometimes take months (and comes with certain additional expenses, since a GMAC-approved doctor has to assess your situation) - so if you want to retake the GMAT in just 3 weeks, then you might not have enough time to go through all of the steps needed to receive Accommodations.
I've never heard of anyone taking the GMAT while laying down in bed - and since that's NOT the 'norm', my suspicion is that the Moderator might not allow it. This is a question that would likely be best answered by a Customer Service member though, so contacting Examity directly to ask might be the most appropriate move at this point.
