One question comes up almost every application season: "Should I apply to Columbia Business School in Round 1, or would I be better off waiting for Round 2?"
The answer depends less on the calendar and more on the strength of your application.
If your essays clearly reflect your goals, your resume highlights your impact, and your recommendations are coming together well, Round 1 may be the right time to apply. But if you're expecting a promotion, planning to retake the GMAT or GRE, taking on a significant project at work, or simply feel that your application doesn't tell your story as well as it could, giving yourself a little more time may be the better decision.
The important thing is to have a reason for waiting. A stronger application in Round 2 is often better than a rushed application in Round 1. At the same time, delaying without making meaningful improvements may not change the outcome.
