Hey everyone,

I took the gmat some months ago, with a score of 710 (46,41). It is a great score and I am happy with it, but since I intend to apply to some of the top schools in the US, and considering that I think I will have time (I will begin writing essays soon), I have started wondering if I should try for a second time aiming for a 730. It is not that it would make a critical difference, but it could help a little.

I think I could get there, since the day I took the exam was not my best and in the GMAT Prep I got 710 and 730. But it can also go the other way around and score below 710, in which case I am worried it would hurt me.

Any thoughts?

Dear hugoness,

I'm happy to respond. The short answer is: NO. For more of an explanation, see this blog post:

Let me know if you have any further questions, and congratulations on an elite GMAT score.

I´ve read the article, and all that is said is true and,in fact, that was my intention. I just thought that if I had time, I could try... But as you said, it´s important to know when to move one. There only so much time.

Thank you!
