I took the Gmat for the first time in february 21st 2018 for the first time, I only prepared myself for about three weeks before, I hired a tutor during that time.
My starting point was about 36V and 36Q as well, however I failed miserably on the test day, I only scored 20V and 36Q which lead me to an shameful 480 score, which is way below what I need to apply to a B-school (around 650).
I bought the e-gmat for verbal and I've been using it each day since then, however everytime that I take a mock test I get a worse score than before, my last one was 17!!!!! I don't understand what am I doing wrong and why I can't seem to improve my score even that before I didn't knew a lot of grammar rules than now and still had a better score than I do.
My second attempt test date is set for april 3rd but I'm feeling very insecure about it since I haven't seen any improve in verbal, I need to send an updated gmat for my target school since they already liked my profile and told me to do it so...but I'm not sure I'll make this time
any advice????

Good for you.

GMATCLUB test are on harder side so dont over-stress about it.

You should try tests from other companies to see if that is a trend or outlier.

Hi trixy85,

Many Test Takers spend 3 months (or more) of consistent study time before they hit their 'peak' scores. Based on what you've described, you've studied for less than 2 months. By extension, you might naturally improve as you continue to study. That having been said, it's not clear HOW you were studying - and it might be that you're approaching this process in an inefficient way.

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) What type of study routine have you been following? How many hours are you studying each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) How have you scored on EACH of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
4) What is the 'deadline' that you need to have your Score in by?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich
