Thanks domotron,

I have been preparing for the last 4 weeks full time, I was hopping just if I master my strategy rather than my knowledge I could get above 600.

I guess It will be safer to postpone.

Thanks again

Hi All,

I have my exam next friday, less than 10 day and I am currently scoring less than 600. This will be my 3rd take on the GMAT and I need a score of 650.

Today I have taken MGAMT test and scored 490 (40 Quant 52 %, 18 Verbal 16 %). I have also taken GMATprep test last week and scored less than 530 (44 Quant , 20 Verbal).

Your advice is much appreciated.

Many thanks

You should definitely postpone. Judging by your practice tests scores, you are not likely to reach your target.

Yes, you should postpone it.

Its extremely difficult to jump 120 points in 10 days.

Yes, good choice to postpone.

We generally recommend our students to only walk into the test if they've reached their target score in practice. For example, if your target score is a 650 and you still have not reached a 650 in practice -- well, don't expect to magically hit 650 on the real thing.

So use the various practice tests to see if you "qualify" to sit in for the exam. At least one exam score should be within your target range.

I postponed the test 4 times on my final attempt, until I was scoring 30 points above my target consistently. If you aren't under time pressure with applications, I would recommend it. You want to feel 100% prepared. And yes its annoying to eat the change fee, but in the grand scheme of life/MBA program you'll be glad you did.

Many thanks all for your reply.

I have postponed it to early February.

The only issue is I do not want to burnout in the 3 months, so I may reschedule again (bring the date forward) if I score within my target in the next few mocks after revising. I am going to focus on verbal in the next 2-3 weeks to reach +35 since my score on Q is about 40 and hopefully will be able to improve it to +45 in 1-2 weeks.

Thanks
