Hi all,
I took Gmat test on 29/01 and scored 630 (Q47 V31). I scored 680(Q50 V27) on my first practise mock test and 730( Q50 V38) on my second mock test).
I did a full comprehensive study on TTP and a tutor class in prep.
The test day:
On the Quant section, the word problems seem a bit wordy and took a lot of time to understand the question(i'm not a native English speaker).
On the Verbal section, some RC passages were really long and i have to guess at least 5 questions toward the end.
And the markers in the test center were really annoying, it got dry after 2 or 3 secs. This cost me almost 3-5 mins to get use to it. The test center said it is a normal thing(so annoyed).
Anyway, i did register a second test on 15 Jan 2024 but i'm a bit worry if i am ready for it ( my target is 700+).
I have 2 options reschedule the 15 Jan to 24 Jan so i can do a full study in Word problems and Verbal and maybe practise test 3 4 5 6. Or i will just take the test in 15 Jan and register an online on 31 Jan.
I fear that if i did not complete GMAT on January i would need a few more months to study the Focus edition and i plan to apply for MBA in January 2025.
What is the experience in switching from GMAT to Focus edition ? Would i need a few more months to study ? ( i scored 4 on IR without any study).

If you're thinking of retaking, the ESR may be worth checking out. If you have the flexibility, one option could be to schedule in such a way that allows you two more attempts. Ultimately, the classic version will no longer be available after January. For RC, becoming familiar with how inference questions may be helpful. For time management, using question/time markers may be useful as well. If you feel your fundamentals are solid, consider working on your solving approach. May boost your score a bit. Had a student for example with the same score (V31) who went to a V40 in about 30 days. Perhaps include working with a study buddy who is really strong on Verbal. There's a study buddy thread on gmatclub you could check out. If you can find someone who is strong on Verbal and needs help with Quant, that could be a good fit.
