Dear all guys, I want to share my question so that I can listen to all your advices.
I took the test two days ago and got 690 (Q49 V35 IR6) after 4 months study with full-time job.
I am a little sad because my goal is 700+. The CATS before the test I scored around 700+ band.
Now should I take another attempt? That might mean that I seem have to wait to Round 2 as I have not researched much about Essay. I also need to retake IELTS/TOEEFL.
Or I keep this score then spend more time for other parts of application. Try some school at R1 and then R2.
In addition, I am not really confident that I can break the 720+ while some people said that gap between 690 and 700 has not much difference. And if I retake with lower score, is it recorded in my report incase I choose to cancel the result?
My target school around Top 40-50 with scholarships.
Thank in advance.
Hi,
First of all congrats on decent score. Current GMAT policy allows you take the test in 16 days. So if you feel you still have the rhythm, you can check the available date during end of August or 1st week September.
Ofcourse you will miss deadline for top-5 schools. But many of top-20 schools has their deadlines in end of Sep or Early Oct. You will get scholarships in certain schools with this score. They may rank between 35-60 in US.
And about cancellation- If you get less than your current and you cancel, nobody will know that you got lower than your first attempt. So you can take it again, if you feel you can improve 40 points in 3 weeks.
All the best!!.
