Should I retake the GMAT? 740 Q50 V41 but IR5

Question

Hi Gmatclubbers,

Just wanted to find out how important the IR is in an MBA application.

I took the GMAT today and scored a 740 Q50 V41 IR5.

As I have scored high in Quant section, will the adcoms overlook the IR section?

Any thoughts or views are appreciated.

No one cares about IR. Also 97% of test-takers would kill for your score.

Hi arungmat212,

A 740/Q50 is an outstanding score, so you can comfortably apply to any Business School that you choose. Since many Business Schools have publicly stated that they don't use the IR score as part of the application process, you have nothing to worry about there.

I haven't yet decided on which schools to apply to but Columbia and Stern are two schools I am looking at. I will most probably apply this year.
