I got a 660(48Q 34V IR6) in my first GMAT attempt, however, I took the GMAT again and this time got a 710(48Q 38V IR3).
As you can see, my verbal improved, but my IR score came down. I am applying to INSEAD and I am wondering if I should send both scores since My IR is only 3 in my second exam and INSEAD prefers a minimum of 6 in IR. Please advice!
Hello
kai3575, I hope you're doing well.
As an INSEAD alum and ex-interviewer, I can attest that the admissions committee values the dedication of applicants who strive to improve their GMAT scores over time. INSEAD puts strong emphasis on demonstrating "Progression" in all aspects in the application. It's not unusual for competitive candidates to take multiple attempts, particularly when the target cohort has more experience and may be less familiar with exam-taking strategies in the early attempt.
Regarding your Integrated Reasoning (IR) score of 3, I recommend that you address it in your application and explain it as an anomaly. You can also highlight your commitment to further improving your academic performance in the future to showcase your dedication to academic excellence. Proactively state measures you are currently taking to improve on weaker aspects.
Best regards.
