I have been studying for the GMAT for a bit more than 3 months and I unfortunately have not been able to get good scores in two attempts. However, during both attempts I got an IR score of 7 without studying for the IR section. I did some research and found out that some of my targets schools accept the EA for full-time MBA programs. I think that EA might be a good fit for me as it includes IR in the score and since I have been struggling with test anxiety, the EA exam format might be better for me as well. However, I am not an executive and will have 3 years of work experience at the time of matriculation. I heard from info sessions that programs don't have a preference among their accepted standardized tests, but in this case would it look bad if I take the EA instead? How should I ultimately make this decision? (keep studying for the GMAT or switch to EA or maybe both??)
Hi ksan,
I may not be so updated in my understanding of GMAT v/s EA, but until a couple of years earlier, b-schools preferred older applicants submitting an EA, say with 8+ years experience. Typically these applicants do an eMBA, although I have seen older applicants also submit EA for regular MBA programs.
Luckily, I found an article on P&Q which corroborates with what I have written:
