Yep, I totally second redjam's comment here...

710 is a competitive score at any school and you can be sure no school is going to reject you because of it...further, if you are so keen on H/S/W, it would be probably more advisable that you focus on your app because its not as if they would reject you at 710 but accept you at 750..

Thank you guys for your generous reply but I think that the Indian pool is so competitive that if it boils down to hard stats it makes sense to do the numbers and then the GMAT is the most objective number

Manu,
my story started just like yours: 690-710-... and then I took the test for the 3rd time and got 700 :)

If your score only went up 20 points in between the first two, I'm guessing you didn't have to study all that much more for the retake. If you have the energy left, you could probably dedicate 1 or 2 months to the GMAT and get that 750 with still enough time to work on some essays for R1. But at the school's you are looking to apply to, I'm sure you wont be the only 750 applicant so you will need to show you are more than good test taker.

Manu, to sleep better, here is what I decided:
among trustworthy CATs, Veritas free test is the only one I did not try yet. SO I gonna take it this week and then, depending on the score received, to decide whether to take the test.

If I decide to continue the study, I gonna milk GMAT Prep of all questions, especially SC ones + practice GMATClub math tests.
