Well, that's the problem, I'm really happy with GSB admission, I talked a lot with my friends who have MBAs and they said that I can’t go wrong with the schools I’m talking about - I agree. The problem here is that I will only visit schools to get the “real flavor” in feb/march and by then the W R2 was long gone…

I can’t complain with this “problem” I have, just want to know what you guys would really do and specially why.

I voted no. There's just not enough of a qualitative difference, in my opinion, (and yea, of course im biased), to warrant the app to Wharton. Stanford, sure. Wharton, na... not really.

Honestly too, I think you'll like Chicago. There's not a lot to complain about. I often get asked what I dislike the most about the school and I'm always (honestly) struggling to come up with something.

If you are thinking about it, just try to apply. If you dont get your app done no big deal (times pretty short). You can always make the decision after you find out if you got into Wharton or not. Better to try than to wonder if you could have gotten in and been better off at Wharton.

There probably isn't a huge difference in career opportunities or quality of education. It will be more of a decision between Philly and Chicago, and then the feel you get from the two schools.

I second river's statement. If you are unsure or just want to apply then do it, it's a few more hours to ensure you won't have any lingering doubts. Also I agree with Rhyme I don't think there is a lot of difference between GSB and Wharton the only question would be location. If you have the time and inclination apply if not, enjoy you're in at an amazing program.

I voted No for a couple of reasons:

1) I am also in a similar position, I have my essays ~80% completed and I just need to finish editing. I decided that GSB was a much better fit for me, and I don't see too much of a difference between the two schools, so I dropped the application. Plus, I would much rather stay in Chicago but that is because I am biased.

2) As bsd_lover said, we want you at GSB. We can start a GMATclub chapter that will become as influential as the Skull and Bones.

I voted yes,
Simple logic.. if you are good enough to get into GSB, you are good enough to get into other schools...

if Wharton or Stanford is ur dream, why not pursue it...

At the end of the day, never have any regrets.. dont question urself saing "Wonder if I did this"

Its a pain doing an app... but if u feel W/S is ur thing, do it..

Success never stops...

"Philly" sucks

Does Philly suck that much?

I've never been to Philadelphia and talked to a friend who's currently at Wharton, and when I asked about the city he kept me answering that Wharton is a great school :? .

I'm 99.99% decided that I will drop Wharton's application, they won't give me any money  ...

Am I in the minority of people who actually like Philadelphia?

West Philly was a bit of a hole, but it's slowly improving. And I think Center City is terrific... amazing restaurant scene, wonderful museums, great music. Most of the Wharton students live in Center City and walk/public transport it across the river for classes. "Official" activities like MBA Pub are on campus, but a lot of the informal get-togethers happen in Center City.

On the other hand, maybe I'm trying to pump myself up for a possible move to Philly in a few months :-D

(As a point of reference, I grew up outside of Chicago and have lived around Boston for the past few years...)

Funny, I was thinking the same thing! I liked the Philly I saw when I visited. I'm sure I was taken to the best neighborehoods but I enjoyed the downtown and the area called the "Old City?" Overall, the city had a cozy feel to it and I would like to visit it again.
