Looking at the options available, options A, C could be narrowed down. B loses out because with the given information we cannot make out if the 10 year range is sufficient or not. There is an element of doubt in the option itself and it does not help us to weaken the conclusion/claim made in the stimulus.
Option E strengthens the claim/conclusion and hence it is the opposite answer.
Between option A and C, I went for option A. Option C lost out because of an additional assumption that similar families would contribute in the exact same way to ones personality development.
Not sure why option A is incorrect since I thought it was casting a serious doubt on the study results.
