Simon 2012 - Calling all Applicants

This post is in continuation to my previous post, mentioned above. If candidates who have been interviewed by Simon could post their interview experiences, it would be really helpful. Or, if any current students wish to share some insights or proivde pointers about the interview process, that would be great too. Many thanks !

applied for r2.
i had an interview during the open house (which was before i submitted the application), and the interview was solely based on my resume.
one of the alumni conducted the interview. i guess there's a set of questions they need to ask the interviewee, and the questions were pretty much standard questions without any surprises.

Hi Simon applicants! FYI if you're applying through the Consortium Graduate Study in Management (CGSM), hop over to the Consortium 2012 Forum and Update Your Profile to reflect that you are applying through the Consortium.

It's simple. Just select your school as "Consortium, the", then indicate which specific institution(s) you'll be applying to and the Consortium round you'll be applying in. You can do all of this easily through the handy 'Add to Your Schools' link on the front page of the Consortium 2012 Forum.

We have a special analytics specifically for those candidates applying via Consortium and lots of useful tips for your application and assessment of your candidacy.

Anybody who applied for R2 got any decisions yet? I know the notification deadline is Feb 15, but I heard you might get the results back sooner...

I applied in R2 and received interview invite from SIMON. I'll have my interview in first week of January. Best of luck to you.

Also, I'll appreciate if someone, who has already interviewed with SIMON, can share his/ her experience. And how many applicants (%) are invited for interviews.

I had an interview before I submitted the application during Open House. I'm not sure how many are invited for the interviews, but I requested my interview (you could do that for Open House, not sure if that's still possible).

The interview was with an alum, solely based on the resume. It took me about half an hour. Standard questions. Go through the resume, strengths, weaknesses, all that stuff.

this thread seems awfully quiet compared to last year's... updates on the status anyone?

Applied in R3. Does anyone know when will the school send interview invites?

based on this year's and last year's thread, it usually took about 3-4 weeks.

it's almost been 9 weeks since I submitted my application.
Any R2 applicants received results yet???

I too applied in R2 and received interview invite after 3-4 weeks. Interviewed with Director of admissions through skype video. It's been 2 weeks since interview. Getting restive.


Is there anyone R2 applicant who received Simon admit ?

I haven't yet, but they said that I should expect the decision within a week from yesterday.

Financial Times of London (January 2011)
• No. 5 in the world – Economics
• No. 6 in the world – Finance
• No. 26 among U.S. business schools

Bloomberg BusinessWeek (December 2010 & January 2011)
• No. 1 for Return on Investment (ROI) among U.S. private business schools
• No. 3 for Teamwork
• No. 5 for Analytical Skills
• No. 8 for Innovative Curriculum among U.S. business schools
