Simple DS Question- dont agree with OA

See attached DS question. I think the answer is straight B, but OA explaination says it is C. Team input please.

In (2), 1/x <1 so x> 1 yes. But x can also be negative. 1/neg. number is negative, which is less than 1. So x > 1 OR x <0. (1) + (2), you know that x has to be positive, so x>1. Therefore C.

this is a mostly asked crapy and trapy question. 

from i, we know x is +ve.
from ii, we do not know whether x is -ve or +ve.

from i and ii, we know x is +ve but >1.

Answer is 'C'.

Statement1: x> 0 , This doesn't tell whether x>1. SO INSUFF

Statement2: 1/x <1>1
if x may be -ve, x <1
So INSUFF

Taking them together:
we know x is +ve from statement1, hence x will greater than 1

Hence Suff

x>0 -> could be a fraction which is less than 1. Insufficient.

St2:
If x = 2, then 1/x <1>1
If x = -1/2, then 1/x < 1. In this case, x<1.
Insufficient.

Using both:
We know x must be a positive value above 1. So answer is C.

Try to think is X is negative. Then you don't know from statement 2 whether X>1 or not!!!

You need to be sure that X is positive!
