The Pies Mother cooled was delicious. ( this is the sentences after removing all prepositional phrases). My understanding - 'The pies mother cooled' is the uncontable noun (something eatable item) where it should take singular verb 'was'. But text book explain that pies is plural so you need to use 'were'. Can anyone explain further, how it is plural? What is the meaning of "The pies mother cooled"
