Hi tanyakhanna095,

To maintain the current verbal score, you should review all the things that you have already mastered. What material did you go so far? I have gone through TTP, Veritas, and Manhattan prep materials for quant as it was my weak area. I am going to give you a link in which you will find the video solution to OG questions:

https://gmatquantum.com/official-guides ... at-videos/

If you can exploit the link, you can expect to have some extra points.

Best Wishes!

Though I can tutor Quant, I'm currently approached more for Verbal tutoring. One thing I'd suggest is to work on your Solving Approach.

Here's a debrief of a recent Verbal student I had (V31 to V40). Perhaps there is some insight that is helpful:

Hi Tanya,

To start, raising a 480 (from back in March) to a 620 is a significant achievement (and it shows that you have to capacity to learn and improve)! In a prior post, you mentioned that you were interested in a Score in the 650-700 range - and if you'd be happy with a 650, then you are remarkably close to that Score right now (meaning that you wouldn't necessarily need another 2 months of study to hit that mark). If you're more interested in a 700+ though, then you would likely need to commit to at least another 1.5 months of consistent, guided study though - and you'd have to make improvements to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections.

1) What are your current application plans?
2) For your next attempt, are you planning to take the At-home GMAT or are you planning to take your GMAT at a Test Facility?
3) Going forward, how many hours do you think you can consistently study each week?

Thank you Rich! I would be fine with anything in the 650-700 range. Obviously anything closer to 700 will make me a more competitive applicant, but given the other aspects of my background, and discussions with adcoms at the school I am most interested in, it seems that as long as I am within that range, I can be a competitive candidate.

1) I am planning to apply to schools early next year, so I definitely have time with the GMAT but starting January, I won't have much time to dedicate to studying, which is why I am hoping to get it over with this year.
2) I am planning to take my next attempt at a test facility (as I did this attempt). For some reason the test facility reduces my anxiety from other aspects going wrong (external distractions, tech issues, etc.)
3) On average, I think I can dedicate ~2 hours a day during the week and ~4-5 hours each on the weekend. I'd say on average I can assume to study 20 hours a week, give or take.

Since I took the exam at the test center, I was able to obtain an ESR. Would you be willing to analyze it for me as I try to develop a plan to tackle the areas that can help boost my score and cross the 30+ point increase I'm looking to get.

Thanks very much :)

Hi Tanya,

While the ESR doesn’t provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what went wrong on Test Day (and what you should work on to score higher). Since you purchased the ESR, I'll be happy to analyze it for you - and we can use that data to help map-out this next phase of your studies. Before you can include attachments with your posts/PMs, you need to have at least 5 posts in the forums (right now, you have 4 posts). As an alternative, you can feel free to email me directly (at [email protected]).
