Just got a 690 on my third attempt, and while I am pretty pleased I was wondering how everyone else out there did in admissions with their scores. Top schools anyone?

690 is quite a decent score. A little below average for the top 10 schools but nothing you cannot overcome with a great application. People do get into top schools with scores lower than 690 too. Focus on your app now. If you do a good job, there is no reason for not getting an admit.
If, unluckily, you get wait listed instead of accepted in your school of choice, you can consider taking GMAT again and pushing the score up to 750. It just might be the extra nudge the school required!!
