Miguel and jose never have and never will be world class players, but they love the sport and continue to improve at it.

I was able to narrow down to two choices

c)never have been and never will be world class soccer players, but
d)have never been world class players and will never be, but

Which one would you choose and WHY?

I think it is D, given the limited choicrs. It would be nice if you could provide all the choices.

We need to correct the problem in GMAT sentence correction no matter how much change is required.

I think "have never been" in D is better than "never have been" in C.

other choices are

a)
b) never having been and probably never becoming world class soccer players
c)
d)
e)without being and probably never becoming world class players still

I have an OA. This is an exam question per the GMAT book i bought.

never should come after 'have'

D is correct because C has not complete verb and D has.
