Hi guys,
First time here and hope to be able to gain some tips. This might be a long post so bear with me. I really appreciate any help or advice that I can get.
A little bit of a background info: I recently graduated from Stony Brook University with degrees in Business Admin: Accounting Specialization and Economics. SBU is not really well-known for its business program. However, I want to get into Accounting and want to take the CPA which is why I'm taking the GMATS to hopefully gain admission into Baruch.
My stats: I have a 3.63 cumulative G.P.A., lowered because of joining a social fraternity

. I have about almost a year of internship experience with forensic accounting and sales and am now working full-time doing accounts receivables. I plan on taking the GMATS in a month and I think I can get at least a 600. I'm not even sure if I can get into Baruch for accounting with my stats but I will try.
I know my background might not match some of you people here who might already be working for a big 4 or a fortune 500 company. But coming out of college, it took me about a month to find a job; I grabbed what I can get. After working here, I know for sure that I don't want to do Accounts Receivables my whole life but to me, this is the most accounting-related job that I ever had.
My questions are if you were me, what would you do? One of the interns at my work place, who is a year younger than me, got an offer for an internship at Deloitte. He encouraged me to apply for internships at Big 4 firms but I don't think I'm qualified from my background. I do want to work for the Big 4 one day. Should I stay here for a full year before I look for other positions? Stay for 6 months? Would it look bad if I stayed for such a short period of time for a full-time position?
Thanks in advance!
I appreciate it
