We need to weaken the conclusion. so We need to look for an answer that attacks the suggestion of not using mascara brushes for more than 6 months.
A- INCORRECT- this discuss the practice of Mascara storage and suggest the likelihood of contamination in both cases. But contamination is there, so it does not weaken the conclusion.
B) -INCORRECT - the contamination starts at 6 months so even if the degree of contamination is same for 8 months. that does not invalidate the usage suggestion.
C) INCORRECT - even if they don't know the reason. the contamination is there and in this case the suggestion still holds true.
D) INCORRECT - There can be other possible contaminants but this does not impact the relationship between bacterial contamination and 6 months expiry suggestion.
