Hi All,
P1. Some multi-story buildings in California were destroyed in an earthquake in 1989.
S1. Not all multi-story buildings survived the earthquake.
The answer is Yes, we can interfere but I feel that in the statement we don't know if author is talking about buildings of California or somewhere else in the US.
Please advise.

even we talked about the buildings of entire world destroyed during the same time period , from the statement"Some multi-story buildings in California were destroyed in an earthquake in 1989" we come to know that some building still were not destroyed by earthquake in california.
i mean if u consider the entire world as a single set then some buildings ,which are not destroyed ,still make a subset from the entire set.
so "S1. Not all multi-story buildings survived the earthquake." makes sense here

S1. At least 1 multi-story building was destroyed.
here also inference is yes. But my concern is we don't know whether in the statement the author is talking about building in California or about some building in other city. There is a possibility that a single-story building was destroyed in New York and no multi-story building was destroyed.
So how can the answer be yes?
Please suggest.
