The workers are analysts or they are not; similarly, they have an MBA or they don’t. Since this type of data represents mutually exclusive data, a 2 x 2 grid can be drawn to find the unknown.
Drawing a 2 x 2 grid with the information given in the question gives us a grid as shown below:

Therefore, \(\frac{2x}{3}\) + \(\frac{y}{4}\) = y – \(\frac{2x}{3}\).
Solving, we get, \(\frac{4x}{3}\) = \(\frac{3y}{4}\)
Or \(\frac{x}{y}\) = \(\frac{9}{16}\)
We could assume x = 9k and y = 16k
It is also given that y – \(\frac{2x}{3}\) = 50. Therefore, 3y – 2x = 150.
Substituting the values of x and y, 48k – 18k = 150.
Solving for k, k = 5.
Therefore, x = 9 * 5 = 45
The correct answer option is A.
