Well mohish, the fact of the matter is, all of us pick answer choices - the bare essential to be alive on the GMAT Club if you will - but not all of us have signature styles - kinda icing on the cake.
This is what a marketer would probably call differentiation and a pretty strong one at that with a pretty high recall i must confess...
So I guess, its not matter for  face!!
It should more be  face!

Some patients who do not respond to therapies for depression may simply have received inadequate treatment, having, for example, been prescribed a drug at a dosage too low to be effective or having been taken off a drug too soon.

a)
b) having, for example, a drug prescription that was ineffective because the dosage was too low, or being
c) as, for example, having too low of a dosage of a prescribed drug for it to be effective, or being
d) when they have, for example, been prescribed too low a drug dosage to be effective, or were
e) for example, when they have a drug prescription with a dosage too low to be effective, or been

Rigger, can you please bold or underline the sentence that would require correction.

I assume that the original sentence needs correction from to having been.

If my assumption above is correct, then I would choose C. I may however wait for the sentence to be corrected.

In A paralellism is kept. In B the meaning is changed. In C we are comparing "having" with patients. D is a run-on sentence. There is no connection between the two clauses. The same for E.

A must be.
