I got these from a chinese website.Can anybody explain the concepts behind these questions.
is median of X bigger than Y?
1) the X arithmetic mean is bigger than the arithmetic mean of Y
2) the Xvariance is bigger than Y variance
2. 8 people play games, 2 people play a game, how many games will be played? (no duplication )
3.$20.000 deposit into bank, compound quarterly, ask for this compound interest.
a. the intrest in 2nd quarter is 1.1 times more than the first quarter.
b. the intrest in 2nd quarter is 2 dollars more than the first quarter.
4. What is the SUM of
1/100 + 1/101 + 1/102 + .......+ 1/150

Hi, i think for the bank question the answer is D since both statements are saying the same thing. 1.1 of 20 dollars is 2 dollars. I was wondering how u read those chinese sites.

if set Y = (1,1,7) median = 1 mean = 3 variance = 8
Here median(x) = median(y)
if set X = (0.5,0.5,10) median = 0.5 mean = 3.66 variance = 20
if set Y = (1,1,7) median = 1 mean = 3 variance = 8
Here median(x) < median(y)
Q2) 7+6+5+4+3+2+1 = 28
