I can say that I cherish every moment and every experience I've had in my life, whether it was good or bad. I really appreciated your posts, Praet and River. Let's hope I will get to enjoy this future 2-year experience soon! :)

The post is, of course, quite on the money. However, our culture especially getting into schools very rarely values this method of living. How many essays ask you "where are you going" the right answer is always "I don't know!" but we attempt to fuddle up some explanation and give a conclusion of where we are headed. I believe it takes a lot of wisdom to say I do not know. It takes courage to go into the unknown, to move forward not knowing what is beyond the next corridor.

We always write narratives of peoples lives, we make them make sense, as if there was a path these people followed. Sure we can find the way that they travelled, but the path was constantly being paved, like explorers in a jungle.

I actually answered this way in one of my interviews...what are your long term goals...I dont know I said. And explained that it took years of knowing to unknow my goals!!

Interesting how that will work out for me!

Awesome. So inspiring. I just got my Kellogg Ding today. At first it seems like a haze and life does not seem nice to you. But where is the joy if everything came easy. The fun is in the fight. I slogged for 4 months studying GMAT for the second time and came up trumps by scoring a 770. I am ready to put in the same slog for my applications.
