St. Gallen, MEcon admission probabilities...pls help!!

Question

Hi guys!! is there anybody who's applied (or is already attending) the MEcon master programme at St Gallen university?? If yes, please help me with my endless doubts!

About two weeks ago I've applied for the MEcon as a second master degree (I already have a master in Philosophy). The fact is, even if at St Gallen they told me I can apply for this master without an economic background, I'm really concerned about the real probabilities of admission I have... The result is that I'm frantically checking my application status every couple of ours (which is really useless, since I've submitted all the documents only 14 days ago...).

Does anyone know when applicants are usually notified by hsg about their admission? And does anybody have a clue about the probabilities I could have of getting admitted to MEcon? I've taken the Gmat and scored 740, my previous master final grade is 110/110 with honors and my GPA is 29.8/30 (but I'm not sure whether my results in a subject such as Philosophy will ever matter for the admission office...).

I got admitted to MEcon to spring semester.

I think since your GMAT is far above required level, if you meet all other criterions you do not have to worry!

Since now is 31th of October (and the post from 17th) , I guess you have been already got admitted

hey guys! any updates? I will apply for the fall 2015 term of the mecon! what is the average gmat etc? thank you!

Hi! To get into the Mecon it's enough to get a Gmat score of 680 or more and to fulfill all the other requirements listed by the university. The Gre test is also accepted, and in my opinion it's much easier than the Gmat. Good luck with the test and the admission process!

Thank you! I only scored a 650! But thats the minimum to have if i want to apply! Which means there is a range from 650 to 680! But I mean 650 isn't that far away from 680!

I forgot one important thing!! 680 is the minimum to be directly admitted, while 650 (if I remember correctly) gives you anyway the possibility to apply. In any case, you can find the official info on the website of the university. If you find the site confusing (in my opinion, it's quite messy) then give a call to the admission office: they'll be happy to answer to all your questions!
