Stanford MBA application deadlines are official for the 2016-2017 application season (Class of 2019). As expected, the deadlines are similar to last year’s. Note, the essay questions have not come out yet, although GSB has repeated questions for many years in a row.

When should you start to prepare? If you are targeting round one, now is a great time to get started on your application. By starting early, you can begin to think through your personal story, fill in any holes and round out your experiences as necessary at work. You can also focus on extra-curriculars and perhaps take a leadership role in an organization you have been involved in, or otherwise start to think about how your activities outside of work fit with the story you are trying to convey to the admissions committee.

Round one is definitely advisable if you are ready by September, but it is important to keep in mind that if your application is not 100%, you are better off applying when you are ready. For now, you have about five months, which is plenty of time to get ready.

Contact me if you have any questions about applying to Stanford or want to set up a consultation to discuss your profile for other schools.

Round 1: Sept 21, 2016
Round 2: Jan 10, 2017
Round 3: Apr 5, 2017

*5:00PM Pacific Time, including your letters of reference and application fee payment. Stanford GSB cannot guarantee that they will review information you send to the MBA Admissions Office after the deadline in the round in which you apply.

Best,
Scott
