Hi idf463,
Since you've scored 590 twice, you're remarkably close to a 600+ right now. The 'swings' in your Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores are concerning though - and they imply that you are either prone to making little mistakes and/or you are guessing far too often. For example, how often are you 'narrowing down the answers to 2 choices' before choosing your final answer in the Verbal section (or on DS)? I ask because probability dictates that you're only going to get about half of those questions correct (and on a 'bad day', it could be a lot fewer than that). This is meant to say that by just learning a couple of Tactics, you could potentially score well-above 600.
Before I can offer you any additional advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:
Studies:
1) On what dates did you take your 3 Official GMATs?
2) How long have you studied in total? How many hours do you typically study each week?
3) What study materials have you used over the course of ALL of your studies? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
4) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
Goals:
5) When you say that you "need" a 600, what does that mean exactly? Would a 600 guarantee you admission to your first-choice Program (and if so, then how do you know that)? Is this a requirement for a scholarship?
6) What Schools are you planning to apply to and what specific application deadlines are you facing?
If you took your most recent Official GMAT at a Test Center, then you might also choose to purchase the Enhanced Score Report. While the ESR doesn’t provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what went wrong on Test Day (and what you should work on to score higher). If you purchase the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you.
