I just started with my GMAT preparation
took the free MGMAT 1: 670 (Q:48, V33)
i did bad in SC, DS and RC.....especially in DS i did lot of careless mistakes...SC and RC have been my weak areas always..
i am planning to give GMAT in Dec end....not taking any prep course as i am self motivated enough to spend couple of hours everyday after work and more on weekends..
any suggesstions or comments??

Hello manishpanjwani,
A 670 on a first practice test is an excellent starting point. People have stated MGMAT math tends to be harder than the real thing, you should be on point for scoring very well on the real test.
Your verbal struggles are quite common among the people who visit this forum.
For SC, the book people recommend most is the MGMAT SC book.
For DS, you need to have a strong overview of quant. Remember, for DS the answer options need to be able to answer yes or no. If you can say with certainty the answer option is "no", then it is sufficent.
For RC, there are a number of things that work for people. Consult the debriefs and the verbal book thread to resolve your weakness.

Thanks a bunch for your suggesstions. I have bought following books to start with:
1) Kaplan GMAT Premier Live Online 2010
2) OG 11th Edition (i read that there isn't much difference between 11th and 12th editions)
I'm planning to buy Manhattan study guides too especially for my weak areas. I think after studying these and practicing enough, I'll take my second practice CAT.
