I am one of those people that gets very easily distracted by even the slightest of noises or sounds. It can be incredibly frustrating when you are trying to focus on something intensely and you lose concentration just because someone near you is coughing, sniffing etc or keyboard bashing.
Taking the GMAT requires permanent concentration and focus so I'm wondering whether it's possible to use ear plugs when taking the test? Clearly, I can't bring my own as the rules are super strict on what is allowed in the test room.
So I'm wondering whether test centers provide any sort of plugs or headphones to block out ambient noise?Furthermore, how do you guys stayed focused during the test? Any special techniques?(Most?) Test centers offer ear plugs, but members have reported success using his/her own ear plugs when taking the test.
Some (maybe all, I'm not sure) offer ear plugs and ear muffs. If the test center offers you ear plugs, they will be the el-cheapo cylinders you press and expand after placing in your ear. Contact your test center to confirm what is available.
To stay focused: Breath, don't panic, don't watch time religiously and maintain compusre throughout the test (i.e. don't let one question get the best of you)
