Hi Scott,

I am still preparing, reading a lot, revising grammar with the gmat club grammar PDF document. Furthermore I attended the Manhatten prep free Courses and explaining videos for all verbal sections. I already saw some good results regarding my verbal skills. When it comes to math I try to do some mock tests in the coming days so that I get more used to the "stressy"-situation and the time management. Yesterday I got a 640 in a veritas mock again. I know that when I hit the GMAT calmly it will be easy for me to reach 45+ in Quant. But yeah therefore I have to be calm and focussed...

edit: todays mock test was 640 again

Hi Schoko88,

GMAC has publicly stated that the Official Score that you earn on Test Day is within +/- 30 points of actual ability. Assuming a similar 'swing' in how your CATs function, most of your CAT score results - along with your Official Score - show that you essentially performed the same each time (about 580 +/- a few points). You handle certain aspects of the GMAT consistently well, but you also make certain consistent mistakes.

While it's possible that you had a bit of a 'bad day' when you took the Official GMAT, it's also possible that you got a bit 'lucky' on your better CAT performances. Statistically-speaking, raising a 560 to the point that you can consistently score 650+ would likely require that you commit to at least another 2 months of consistent, guided study - and you would have to make significant improvements to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections. Thankfully, the GMAT is a consistent, predictable Exam so you CAN train to score at a higher level.

1) What specific application deadlines are you facing? When is the next application Round after the upcoming Round?
2) What is the minimum GMAT Score that you 'need' to apply?

Hi Rich,

Thanks for your answer. I currently do daily mock test and I reached between 640 and 700 again... So now I see better results at least. I hope

Regarding your questions:
1) the application deadline is the 31st of May 2021. The next round would be available in one year. But this is too late for me so no or never ... The date of my second GMAT ist 18th of may. So yeah I guess its not that much to improve in two days :D
2) I need 600 to apply, and 640+ for a realistic chance to get accepted

Hi Schoko88,

The process of taking (and reviewing) a CAT requires a significant amount of energy and effort - and takes time to 'recover' from. This is one of the reasons why you typically shouldn't take more than 1 CAT per week - and your last CAT should be taken about 1 week before Test Day. If you've been taking CATs every day or so, then that is far too many CATs for such a short period of time. Since your upcoming Test is on May 18th, you should NOT take any more CATs at this point.

That's fantastic news! From our prior discussions, it sounds as though this 650 puts you in the perfect position to apply at the end of the month, so it looks like you're all set as far as your GMAT Score is concerned!
