Steel is 17 times as heavy as water and silver 10 times as heavy as water per unit of volume. In what ratio should these metal be mixed so that the mixture is be 13 times as heavy as water ?

Not sure if this is correct, but I got D.
I set up the equation of 17x + 10y = some multiple of 13
Went through the answers, the only one that is a multiple of 13 is D, or 3:4.
17(3) + 10(4) = 91
91/13 = 7

We'll consider all weights in terms of water.
Weight of Steel = 17; Weight of Silver = 10
For a mixture containing x amount of steel and y amount of silver, weight = (17x + 10y)/(x+y) times that of water
(17x+10y)/(x+y) = 13
17x + 10y = 13x + 13y
4x = 3y
x/y = 3/4
Alternately, trying to solve by plugging in values :
For option C : 2/3
Weight of mixture = (2*17+3*10)/(2+3)= 12.8 so the answer should be the next closest fraction.
For option D : 3/4
Weight of mixture = (3*17+4*10)/(3+4) = 13 which should be the correct answer.
