Hi,
I've taken the GMAT once earlier in late '05 and got a score of 640 ! My target was and is 700+ . Gave the prep. another shot early spring of this year but gave up half-way since I felt I wasn't making progress and was getting disillusioned about the whole mba thing .
Now, I've decided to give it another go , this being the final one after which I have to apply to schools for the next academic year , even if this means the local state colleges ! Wanted some input from folks on my strategy:
1a Start directly with OG Quant
1b Move onto
MGMAT - Quant books
2a Next up :
MGMAT - Verbal books
2b Then come back to OG - Verbal
3 Take the first GMATPrep Test
4a Complete Kaplan 800 - Quant
4b Complete Kaplan - Math Workbook (if necessary)
5a Complete Kaplan 800 - Verbal
5b Complete Kaplan - Verbal Workbook (if necessary)
6 Take the second GMATPrep Test
7a Review difficult questions from OG /
MGMAT / K-800
7b Attack questions in 1000 SC,LSAT CR/RC , if possible.
7c Take more paper/adaptive tests (from mba.com/Kaplan)
The key difference between this time around & the last time around is the following:
- don't want to do more "tests" and less learning/studying . hence want to spend more time on actual questions/books and less comparing/analyzing tests
- prevent burnout / "demotivation" . This probably happened the last time when I saw that my paper scores weren't increasing at the same pace I'd like
- keep the focus high when working on OG/
MGMAT and not on Kaplan/PR,etc. (probably happened 'cos I started with the basic guides of Kaplan/PR)
Pl. do let me know if I'm on the right track ... Thanks
