hiee every1 , i hv jus started my GMAT prep...tekin it on 7 DEC...i hv already given my GRE.
I wanted 2 ask u pepl abt hw much time on an avg shld be spent on problem solving question or rather hw much time do u pepl usually spend ?
i m solving P.S from OG. i hv solved d first 220 questions...in sets of 55 each.
However d thing is i m using only 1 min per question on an avg. I had kept abt 100 min for 55 question. but i m finishing these sets in only 50 to max 60 min.
My accuracy is 8 wrong out of 220. Also more than 50% of my mistakes r easy or moderate ones ---jus careless mistakes.
Now i m kinda confused whether i shld slow down or start cross cheking every answer if not which ones to cross check..
Also is d diff level of OG 10 same as dat in real GMAT for maths
I dunno wot 2 do ...so i hv stopped solvin OG problem solving questions ...coz i dont know wot strategy to adopt

Hi,
The level of difficulty in OG 11 PS is not that high. The first 200 questions are of easy to moderate difficulty. The last 50 or so are relatively tougher, although still not extremely difficult. I would suggest you go through all of OG first, then acquire a more difficult set of math problems to work on, such as the "challenges" offered on this forum. The Quant section on Kaplan tests is hard, but good practice.
Remember, the key to quant is mastering the concepts.
On the actual test, you will have an average of 2 mins per quant question and approx 1min 45secs per verbal question. If you are having trouble with a particular question type, you can aim to finish other question types in the same section at a faster rate. For example, I take longer on RCs so I try to finish CR and SC under 1min 30secs each.
One more thing, make sure you keep a log of all questions you get wrong and those that you think will be good review later.

Thanx for ur advice yb .....when r u givin ur GMAT ??
At present i m jus a bit intimidated by verbal section ...specially SC..dats why i think i shld finish complete maths section from OG and then start verbal.....this way atleast i can concentrate den totally on verbal wothout havin 2 worry abt maths...i know dis is a bit risky strategy ...wot do u think ???
