I have recently started my preparation and have gone thru Kaplan, Cracking the GMAT, Manhattan SC books so far.
Are these books adequate (for strategy) for a 700+ score? Would it be sufficient to practice numerous questions/tests or will I need more strategies in my arsenal (plus practicing, however)?

You need to pick one strategy and practice on question sets. That is the only way you can improve your reading comprehension.

The Kaplan book is fine, while the Manhattan SC guide is the best for that topic. Princeton's Cracking the GMAT is not enough for a 700-plus score.
But is this everything so far? What about the three OG books? It would also help if you could tell us your performance on any practice tests are or your accuracy on practice problems. Have you identified any weak areas?
